Author Guidelines

Rigel. Revista de estética y filosofía del arte welcomes original and academically rigorous contributions addressing questions in aesthetics, philosophy of art, art theory, and related areas of philosophical and humanistic inquiry. The journal encourages interdisciplinary approaches and welcomes theoretical, historical, critical, and interpretive studies that contribute meaningfully to contemporary scholarly discussions. The journal has an established academic orientation in aesthetics and philosophy of art and is associated with the Instituto de Investigación en Teorías del Arte y Estética of the Universidad Nacional de Catamarca.

Authors should submit manuscripts that are original, clearly structured, and suitable for scholarly publication. Submissions may include research articles, theoretical studies, critical essays, review articles, and other scholarly contributions relevant to the journal's scope. Manuscripts should present a clearly defined research question or objective, demonstrate appropriate engagement with relevant literature, develop a coherent argument, and provide conclusions that follow logically from the discussion. Authors should ensure that the work submitted has not been simultaneously submitted to another journal or previously published in substantially the same form.

Manuscripts should be prepared in a clear and readable format. The title should accurately reflect the content of the contribution, followed by the author's name, institutional affiliation, and appropriate contact information where requested by the journal. Authors should provide an abstract that concisely describes the purpose, principal argument or findings, and significance of the work, together with relevant keywords. Where required, an English-language title, abstract, and keywords may also be provided. The main text should be organized into logically connected sections appropriate to the nature of the manuscript.

Authors should use consistent academic language and terminology throughout the manuscript. Submissions may be written in Spanish or in other languages accepted by the journal. Authors are responsible for ensuring the linguistic quality, clarity, grammar, spelling, and presentation of their manuscripts. Quotations, translations, specialized terminology, and references to works in languages other than the manuscript language should be presented accurately and consistently. Where a translation is provided by the author, the source should be clearly identified when appropriate.

All sources, quotations, concepts, arguments, images, and other material derived from previous scholarship must be properly acknowledged. References and citations should follow a consistent scholarly citation system and should correspond accurately between the text and the reference list. Authors are expected to verify the accuracy and completeness of bibliographic information, including author names, publication titles, dates, page numbers, publishers, and persistent identifiers such as DOIs where applicable.

Manuscripts should be carefully reviewed before submission to ensure that they meet academic, ethical, and technical requirements. Authors should disclose any relevant conflicts of interest and identify all individuals who have made substantive contributions to the research or manuscript. Any research involving human participants, personal data, or other forms of sensitive material should comply with applicable ethical requirements and institutional standards. Authors should also ensure that permissions have been obtained for any third-party material for which permission is required.

Submitted manuscripts are subject to editorial assessment and scholarly peer review. The editorial team may initially evaluate submissions for relevance to the journal's scope, originality, academic quality, presentation, and compliance with the submission requirements. Manuscripts considered suitable for further consideration may be sent to qualified reviewers. Authors may be asked to revise their manuscripts in response to editorial or reviewer comments. A revised manuscript should address the requested changes carefully and, where appropriate, provide a clear explanation of how the comments have been addressed.

Authors should maintain the integrity of the scholarly record throughout the submission and publication process. Fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, duplicate publication, inappropriate attribution, manipulation of citations, and other forms of academic misconduct are not acceptable. Authors should promptly notify the editorial team if they discover a significant error or omission in a submitted or published manuscript and cooperate with the editorial team in correcting the scholarly record where necessary.

The final manuscript should be submitted through the journal's designated submission or editorial communication channel at iintae.com.ar. Authors should retain a copy of the submitted manuscript and any associated materials. By submitting a manuscript, authors confirm that the work complies with the journal's submission, ethical, and scholarly requirements and that all information supplied to the editorial team is accurate to the best of their knowledge.
